When heavy floods swept through Jubay, Liloan, Cebu, countless families lost their homes, livelihood, and tragically, even their loved ones in a matter of minutes. Roads became impassable, communities were cut off, and many survivors struggled to access even the most basic relief.

To reach those who had no way of reaching help themselves, Operation Blessing conducted relief distribution directly in the affected communities — bringing food bags, solar lights, hygiene kits, blankets, and mats to families still recovering from the disaster.

Among those deeply impacted was Juan Maglasang, a mother of five who nearly lost everything. When the floodwaters rose, her home was completely washed away. With no time to escape, Juan clung to a coconut tree as water surged around her — holding on for her life and praying for her children’s safety.

Her husband, a factory worker, suffered injuries while trying to save their belongings but continues to work despite the pain. With no resources left, the family now stays in a church evacuation center, trying to rebuild from nothing.

Juan recalls the moment Operation Blessing arrived with relief goods as a moment of overwhelming comfort and hope.

“I’m truly thankful to Operation Blessing for your sacrifice in bringing relief to us. It’s a huge blessing for our family,” she shared, still shaken by the loss, but grateful for the support.

For families like the Maglasangs, these relief packs are more than supplies — they are reminders that they are not forgotten, and that God’s love can reach even the hardest-hit corners.

Operation Blessing remains committed to reaching the unreached — one family, one community, one act of compassion at a time.
