Elizabeth Estorquia is doing her best to stay upbeat.

As a single parent who volunteers to help in the community, her biggest struggle is being there for everybody and then trying to be there for herself and her kids.

“This disease outbreak has doubled the challenges for me. I was not even qualified to receive financial assistance from the government’s Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps).” shares Elizabeth. “But the only thing that matters now is I get to feed my two children and help others who are in need as well,” she added.

Elizabeth is one of the many residents in Rodriguez, Rizal who received free meals from Operation Blessing’s mobile kitchen. This generosity on wheels was initiated in cooperation with the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and sponsored by Century Pacific Food, Inc. RSPO Foundation and Primebeef Company.

Despite all the challenges the pandemic brought her, Elizabeth managed to stay strong and positive for her kids. “I am truly grateful for all the support shown to us by other people and organizations, including Operation Blessing. We hope that they can continue to provide aid for communities like us who are greatly affected by the pandemic.”

In times of food crisis like this, Operation Blessing continues to step up to fight hunger through its food bags distribution and food drives.
