Big tummy, yellow skin, very sickly Mia and Guile, who usually gets cold, cough, and pneumonia were diagnosed as malnourished.
Together with their 9 cousins, siblings 4-year-old Mia and 3-year-old Guile looks forward to when Lolo Benedicto comes back home so that they could already eat their lunch or dinner. They all depend on their grandparents.
The parents of all these children have to work far from their home to be able to provide for their needs. Lolo Benedicto earns from driving his habal-habal (a motorcycle modified to transport people in the province).
“Their mothers send money to support them, but it is still not enough. There are times when we do not eat lunch like when he (Lolo Benedicto) has no income yet in the morning. We would have to wait until dinner,” Lola Rose said.
Fortunately, Operation Blessing (OB) went to their place in Jose Panganiban, Camarines Norte to help feed undernourished children. Mia and Guile became part of the Bless-A-Child program and is undergoing 10 months of feeding.
Moreover, Lola Rose attends seminars on health education, biblical parenting, values formation, financial breakthrough, and disaster preparedness. She also received a sewing machine to give them another source of income.
Mia and Guile are both doing better each day, and for all these, Lola Rose is grateful for all the help and support that they are receiving today.
