It is shocking how our world changed within months of battling against the novel coronavirus. Operations of businesses were stopped, schools were closed, various places were on lockdown, frontliners are racing to contain the spread of the virus, many of our kababayans have lost their jobs, and others are hanging on to survive.  As we face the impact of this crisis, people and communities are rising up, the silver lining in these tough times.

Just like Momsh Angel from Pasig City. Aside from her continued support for Operation Blessing’s emergency response efforts in relation to COVID-19, she also distributed a hundred food packs to her friends, relatives, and families in need.

“Security ko ‘yan kay Lord. Ever since ‘yan ang aking pinanghahawakan. The more I give, the more that I will be blessed by the Lord in all ways. ‘Yun naman ang pangako Niya, ‘di ba? Pag nagbibigay kasi ako for the Lord, nakakasigurado akong secured na kaming lahat ng pamilya ko,” Momsh Angel explained. (“It is my security in the Lord and that is what I have held onto ever since. That the more I give, the more I will be blessed by the Lord in all ways. That’s the Lord’s promise, right? When I give to the Lord, I am assured of His security for me and my family.”)

She then mentioned that it was all by God’s grace that they can extend their blessings to other people. “I-ingatan kami ni Lord kasi sa Kanya naman galing ang lahat ng bagay na meron tayo. Daluyan lang po kami ng pamilya ko ng pagpapala. Kahit po kasi sa maliit na maliit na bagay, I choose to give because in giving, we receive. (“The Lord will protect us because all that we have is from Him. We are merely channels of blessing. Even in the smallest of ways, I choose to give because in giving, we receive.”)
