Despite the fact that fashion industry is one of those hardly affected by COVID-19, designers have proven its relevance in this crucial time. Just like a renowned designer and long-time Operation Blessing partner Francis Libiran did to support our selfless frontliners and field workers who are risking their lives every day as they help us fight against Covid19. He worked with his team to produce a line of personal protective equipment (PPE) clothing that are washable and reusable. These garments are made of breathable, liquid-resistant and high-grade materials, giving the utmost protection, comfort and style! Francis donated 100 set of PPE to our medical frontliners. The set consist of washable gowns and shoe covers.
In an article published by the Philippine Star, Francis shared how he entrusted Operation Blessing with those PPE as we distribute it to different hospitals in Metro Manila. “Since the lockdown last March, we’ve been quietly supporting our various charities with Operation Blessing Foundation. They have the manpower to deploy volunteers to all the hospitals and places that need PPEs. We also allocated a portion of our 2019 profits to fund what we call The Heal Project. This is in response to the call of the government to support frontliners and field workers. But the bigger picture is to help the general public with basic protective clothing that’s easy to wear but still a bit fashionable.” — Designer Francis Libiran
One of our PPE beneficiary said, “in a day we use hundreds of PPE and we don’t know how long will the COVID-19 pandemic last so we really need its continuous supply. In our morning devotion, we pray that the Lord will lead people to help us out, and this was an answered prayer! It was indeed the Lord who established Operation Blessing and I am so glad that God led at lot of donors like Francis Libiran to entrust OB to bless the frontliners. We can see how He orchestrated everything. I am so grateful that from the time I’ve known OB, many donors are putting their trust in them, because they see the Lord through Operation Blessing.” Dr. Jojo Rivera, Rizal Medical Center
