CBN Asia announces the early retirement of Dr. Kim April Pascual as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer (EVP-COO) of Operation Blessing Foundation Philippines, Inc. (OB Philippines), the humanitarian arm of CBN Asia.
We are indebted to Dr. Pascual for developing OB Philippines’ programs from a primarily medical mission-centric one to a holistic approach that addresses the needs of not just individuals but entire communities. Her work in systematizing OB’s five-pronged programs involving children, healthcare, livelihood, disaster response, infrastructure, and water and sanitation has assured our success in continuing our work into OB’s next season.
Known for her bravery, Dr. Pascual has led medical missions and relief operations in war-torn places such as Basilan, Zamboanga, Marawi and even Afghanistan and Iraq. Because of these, OB Philippines has been a four-time NGO of the Year for Peace Efforts awardee.
The impact of Dr. Pascual’s work is seen beyond the Philippines. She was instrumental in setting up the humanitarian component of CBN in China, Indonesia, and Thailand. She also played a critical role in the relief efforts in Aceh, Indonesia after the 2004 earthquake and tsunami.
Dr. Pascual’s retirement is our loss, but a well-deserved respite for her. While she will be greatly missed, we wish her well as she enters a new chapter in her colorful life. Peter Kairuz remains the President of Operation Blessing Philippines.
