Fear and panic are still fresh in Lola Angelina’s memories since aftershocks are still being felt in Brgy. Inararo in Porac, Pampanga, following the magnitude 6.1 earthquake on April 22.
When the earthquake happened, she was able to evacuate quickly in the open space with the help of her children.

Lola Angelina (middle standing), more than 80 years old, as what she remembers, has been staying in the open court near their house, with other Aeta families, for a week now where they feel safer.
“It is hard to sleep every night in the open court because we have no roof to protect us if the rain pours or there are no walls to protect us from insects. It is hard for us because we are already old,” Lola Angelina shared.
Since then, food and other basic needs have become limited for them because it was only her son who provides food for them by farming on the mountains. But with the trauma, they never dare to go uphill yet again.
They had also been relying on the relief goods that were given by the local government unit and other NGOs.
“Thank you very much for this. It is a big help for us especially now that we cannot go to our farms and we have very limited food to feed our family,” Angelina said.
