For four years, Grace had the privilege of being a Back-To-School (BTS) scholar, and it made a world of difference in her life.

Mary Grace Amaro is the sixth child in a family of seven siblings. The meager income her parents earned often left them with debts, making it difficult to sustain their daily needs. Thankfully, one of Grace’s older brothers stepped up as the family’s breadwinner, but the burden of providing for everyone weighed heavily on his shoulders.

Amidst the challenges, Grace and her parents found hope when they learned about Operation Blessing’s BTS Project. They were so glad to discover that Grace had been endorsed as a scholar by the church.

The assistance provided by Operation Blessing, in partnership with Orphan’s Promise, was not only a financial lifeline for Grace’s education, but it also had a great impact on her spiritual growth.

Through the BTS Project, Grace and her fellow scholars received guidance and support in their spiritual journey. Grace became more active in attending and participating in the children’s ministry of the church, nurturing her faith and deepening her relationship with God.

During a devastating typhoon that struck their area, Grace also vividly recalls the aid sent by Operation Blessing, which brought much-needed relief and hope to their community.

“Reflecting on my journey, I acknowledge that without the generosity of the Back-To-School donors, my dream of graduating from college would have remained impossible,” Grace said.

She also realizes that Operation Blessing has become her extended family, offering unwavering support and encouragement throughout her academic years. “In moments when I felt like giving up, they stood by my side as a source of hope.”

Now armed with her degree in Bachelor of Elementary Education, Grace has set her sights on the next chapter of her life—preparing for the Licensure Exam for Teachers. Her life verse, “When the time is right, I, the Lord, will make it happen,” served as a constant reminder of God’s faithfulness throughout her journey.
