Building and repairing houses was Lucerio Minor’s way of providing for his family. But on Talim Island, where healthcare is hard to get, his worsening vision forced him to give up everything he had relied on for so long.

In 2019, Lucerio first noticed a slight haze, like looking through frosted glass. But as months turned into years, his vision worsened. Everyday tasks became a struggle. The man who once proudly built homes and furniture could no longer see his own workbench clearly.

“I was afraid,” Lucerio admitted. “What if one day I wake up completely blind?”

By 2023, the cause of his failing eyesight became clear: cataracts in both eyes. But with his wife earning a modest income and his children shouldering the family’s financial burdens, surgery felt like an impossible dream.

“We simply didn’t have the money,” his daughter, Jocelyn, recalled. “It was painful to watch him struggle, knowing we couldn’t help.”

Everything changed when they learned about Operation Blessing’s Life-Changing Surgery Project. The family felt a glimmer of hope—a chance for Lucerio to see clearly again.

Thanks to the support of generous donors, Lucerio received the cataract surgery he desperately needed. Today, his vision is no longer a blur. He can once again see his family, his home, and the vibrant world around him. He even dreams of returning to his beloved carpentry work.

“I didn’t know this was possible,” Lucerio said, his eyes brimming with gratitude. “Thank you, Operation Blessing, and thank God for giving me this second chance.”

For Lucerio and his family, this is more than just restored sight. It is proof of God’s faithfulness and a reminder that no one is beyond His reach.
