Jehan Pandagdagan, 39, is a hardworking dad to three kids: Claire, Dave, and Ian.
Just like his children, Jehan has cataracts in both eyes, something that runs in their family. He was diagnosed when he was just 10 years old. Back then, surgery was suggested, but his family couldn’t afford it, and the fear of losing his sight kept them from trying.
Every day, Jehan drives his tricycle to take his kids, and sometimes neighborhood children, to school. He also does gardening jobs on the side.
But his cataracts made life hard. The sun hurt his eyes, he could only drive slowly, and reading was a real struggle. Even simple tasks meant asking his wife for help. He often felt nervous about bumping into things or falling, but he always prayed for protection.
When Jehan saw how his children’s cataract surgeries through Operation Blessing’s Life-Changing Surgery (LCS) Project had helped them, he asked if he could get the same help. On March 2025, he had surgery on his left eye. The right eye was too advanced for surgery, but fixing his left eye already made a huge difference.
Months later, everything had changed. Jehan no longer feels pain or glare in sunlight. He can see clearly, drive confidently, and even read books without straining his eyes. He’s back at work, helping his family, and moving around without fear!
But the impact didn’t stop there. Through OB’s church partner, Jehan and his family started attending church regularly. He and his wife, Lady, were baptized and became active members.
Lady shared, “Life used to feel so heavy, but now it feels lighter. Even Claire leads our prayers now. We really feel God’s presence and hope in our lives.”
Thanks to Operation Blessing’s LCS project, Jehan didn’t just get his sight back. He and his family found new hope, confidence, and faith.
Jehan’s story shows the power of compassion and faith in action. But, there are many more families like his who still need help. Your support can give someone like Jehan the chance to see clearly, work confidently, and live with hope again. For ways to give, please call: 09985511990 | 09985954938.
