“Lord, if You will allow me to pass this entrance exam, please help me find support until I graduate…”

Richil shared this still vivid memory of her prayer when she was seated in a room during her college entrance exam in 2018.

Four years later, God honored her faith and prayers. Richil Mae Moris, 23, finally graduated from college with flying colors!

Behind Richil’s success is her overjoyed mother, Eugenia, who kept praying with her to finish her studies. “I am thankful to God because He answered my prayers for my daughter. That’s all I can do for her,” she said.

Richil lost her father from kidney failure when she was only 6 years old. Since then, Eugenia started working for their needs. Currently, she works in a small eatery, earning ₱150 (3$) per day. This small income is what she use to budget for their family’s basic needs and Richil’s schooling.

But the challenges did not waver Richil’s dreams. She wanted to become a teacher. So to support herself in her school-related expenses, then freshman Richil accepted a tutoring job.

When she reached her second year in college, God opened an opportunity for Richil to be a Back-to-School scholar of Operation Blessing.

“Becoming a part of the Back-To-School (BTS) Project has greatly changed my college journey. With the financial assistance given to me, I was able to finish my studies and even help my mother in our daily needs. I am grateful to the sponsors behind this project for helping aspiring students like me.”

With all her needs provided, Richil said she was able to focus more on her studies. She became a Dean’s lister, and later a President’s lister, too.
