Despite the wind blowing and the rain pouring, individuals and parents with their children didn’t miss the chance to have their medical needs met. Many of them came early, and among the beneficiaries are Evelynda and Romeo Ramos, a senior citizen couple.

Evelynda had been enduring pain in her knees and toes for months now, and due to financial constraints, this is the first time she had them checked up. Romeo has a heavy cough and back pain.

Romeo had a stroke seven years ago and has stopped working since then. Their income comes from Evelynda’s job as a dispatcher, where she earns less than Php 2000 ($40) a week. They take care of three grandchildren, aged 1, 12, and 19. Although the eldest grandchild and their parents provide occasional financial aid, it’s still difficult to stretch the budget. That’s why the free healthcare services came as a huge blessing to them.

This medical mission of Operation Blessing is a significant help for our community, especially for the less fortunate like us. Thanks a lot to all the donors, to the doctor, and to the whole team! —Evelynda
