Eastern Communications supports Operation Blessing’s Disaster Response in wake of Typhoon Odette (Rai)

As several towns and provinces begin to recover from the effects of Typhoon Odette, Operation Blessing (OB) is working to ensure that there is relief on hand. And one of the many companies that pledged help to support local community relief efforts is Eastern Communications.

Eastern Communications has a long-standing history of supporting communities in their hour of need. The company hopes its donation will spur other organizations to also support OB’s relief operations.

Since 2019, Eastern Communication has been helping OB mobilize efforts through its different projects like Medical Missions. This time, the telecommunication provider is not turning a blind eye to the needs of Odette-hit communities by partnering with OB’s Disaster Response.

“At Eastern Communications, we strive to continuously bring back the human connection in everything we do. Through our partnership, we hope the funds we raised would give their communities hope and support their recovery,” Eastern Communications wrote in a social media post.

The ceremonial turnover of donation was attended virtually by Operation Blessing President Peter Kairuz and Corporate Communications and Resource Development Department Head Gigi Endaya.

Despite the widespread road closures and power outages, food bags, bottled water, mats, blankets and hygiene kits have already been delivered to hard-hit areas in Southern Leyte, Bohol, Palawan and the CARAGA Region. OB’s Disaster Response Team is working with local authorities and agencies to assess additional needs and identify ways to provide assistance.

Operation Blessing has a record of successfully leveraging partnerships and resources to quickly mobilize aid following a large-scale of calamities in vulnerable communities. YOU, too, can stand with us in helping our desperate kababayans!
