The final day of Operation Blessing’s medical mission in San Jose Del Monte, Bulacan brought them face-to-face with Dominga, a senior citizen whose resilience shone brightly despite her challenges. Six years ago, a stroke stole some of her physical strength, leaving her particularly vulnerable to the scorching Philippine heat.
“When it’s hot,” Dominga confided, “I feel weak, like wilting vegetables. There’s no strength left.” Her daily routine revolved around finding solace from the midday sun. “At 3 pm, when the sun is at its peak, I take a shower. As the water flows, I can almost feel the heat escaping my body.”
Operation Blessing’s medical mission offered Dominga a beacon of hope. The free check-up ensured her well-being was monitored, while essential medicines and vitamins provided much-needed support. A hygiene kit offered practical relief, and a copy of Our Daily Bread Devotionals brought comfort and inspiration.
Dominga’s words resonated with heartfelt gratitude. “This mission is a true blessing,” she expressed. “Your charitable work is a great help, and I pray God sees your sacrifices. May He grant you strength, long life, and good health, and may we all be kept safe from harm.”
Operation Blessing’s mission transcended medical care. By addressing Dominga’s physical needs and offering a message of hope, they empowered her to face the challenges of the heat and navigate her path to continued well-being.
