Fifteen of Operation Blessing’s (OB) former Bless-a-Child beneficiaries from Payatas joined an ArtReach program last May 16, 2015 at the volleyball court of Quezon Memorial Circle. The event is organized and headed by U! Happy Events in celebration of the organization’s art week.
A total of 95 children from eight different non-government organizations attended the event. One hundred ninety volunteers extended their time and effort that day to take care of and assist the children in their fun-filled activities. Eight stations of artwork activities were set up in the event’s venue. These are accessory-making, balloon twisting, origami, clay making, face painting, finger puppetry, photo op, and rock painting. One of the volunteers even said that she is happy just seeing underserved children happily playing and losing themselves in their works of art.
U! Happy Events’ founder Harvard Uy De Baron, who also celebrated his birthday that day, expressed his gratitude for OB. He even encouraged other humanitarian organizations that focus on children’s programs to trust the children and give them the chance to receive the blessings from God and other people.
“This event aims to reach out to the next generation through arts. There is always a result in reaching out to the children and it is never late to make them happy,” he added.
Indeed, as our partner organization put it, “Change starts with U” so we need to accept the challenge to inspire change in the lives of the children of the community.
