How can you be able to raise your family if you yourself can’t stand on your own? This is the struggle that Manuel Barrion Jr., is facing after he suffered leg paralysis due to hypokalemia, a condition caused by low potassium in the blood.

We met Manuel in Brgy. Cupang, Antipolo, Rizal. He is 43 years old, a father of four, and was working as a driver in order to support his family. His wife is a housekeeper and doesn’t have a job either. Now, they just are depending on their relatives’ help to put some food on their table. His medical expenses are also a huge difficulty for them. Sometimes, instead of taking four of his prescribed medicines, he is just taking one of them because of financial constraints.

But life must go on for Manuel. He uses an improvised water pipe to stand and walk.

That’s where Operation Blessing tried to shed some hopes in. By giving him new and proper crutches and some medicines, Manuel is touched by this simple help that still goes a long way. “It’s a big help because you give me things that I can’t afford to buy,” he thankfully said.

It’s amazing how even a simple gift can spur hope and joy to those people who are really in need. That is the goal of Operation Blessing, sharing love, hope, and blessings through the help that you give.
