In 2023, Jarish Dolosa faced significant financial struggles while trying to balance her college studies. With her parents unable to work due to illness and no funds for transportation, she had to sell goods in her classroom just to make ends meet.
Each Sunday, her pastor provided her with a ₱200 love gift (about $3.50), which she used as her weekly capital for her small business. The modest profit she earned from selling goods was barely enough to cover her daily needs.
“To save money, I would walk to the bus terminal even though it was far,” Jarish shared, highlighting the lengths she went to get by.
Everything changed for Jarish when she became a scholar in Operation Blessing’s Back-To-School Project. This support relieved her of the need to sell goods, provided her with transportation money, and allowed her to focus fully on her dream of becoming a teacher.
“I prayed hard to be part of this scholarship, and God answered my prayer,” Jarish shared. “Without this, I might not be in school today.”
Jarish’s story is not just inspiring for her friends but also shows how generosity can truly change lives. Thanks to Operation Blessing, Jarish has moved from just surviving to thriving.
“I am deeply grateful to God for answering my prayer and to Operation Blessing for this scholarship. I hope this project will continue to help many more people like me. I also pray that it grows and that God blesses the sponsors and social workers who support us,” she said.
With the support of Operation Blessing, Jarish is on her way to becoming a teacher, and her journey is just beginning.
