DSC_1794Operation Blessing again partnered with Cherry Mobile for a medical and dental mission at Santol- Manggahan Elementary School, Barangay Manggahan, Mataasnakahoy, Batangas last May 15, 2015.

The officials of the municipal government office, municipal health officers, barangay health workers, and the teaching staff of Santol-Manggahan Elementary School were also present during the project. They helped in the monitoring of the queues at the site.

School Principal Rosalina Orense said that they are very blessed, honored, and full of joy for the outreach project. “Thank you for coming in our community to help,” she said.

Although the residents have easy access to the municipality’s healthcare programs, some of them still cannot afford to pay for their fare going to town, like Nelia Benedicto, 38, who came to the mission site with three of her five children in the hopes of receiving free medicines and dental care. They were not disappointed because all of them were attended to, and they were provided their healthcare needs.

We are very happy because we really do not have any money to bring my children to the doctor. We walked for 30 minutes just to get here. Thank you so much for the medicines that you gave, this is a big help to us,)” Nelia gratefully stated.

“This is a great opportunity for our municipal health office. We sometimes do not have enough medicines for all of our townsfolk. Thank you for the medicines, we usually do not have all of these, thank you for providing it to us,” said Mary Ann Joyce Jacla, the public health nurse of Mataasnakahoy.

The outreach mission catered to 268 residents of Mataasnakahoy who all received appropriate medications for their medical needs, 209 of whom were checked by volunteer medical doctors, with the remaining 59 receiving dental care (tooth extraction).
