Vida Acala, 47, has spent years using her hands to bring beauty to others as a home service manicurist. But lately, her hands have been failing her. Frequent numbness has made it harder to work, and the constant strain has only worsened her migraines. Still, she pushed through, as she had no choice.
Her husband, Recolito, 52, once provided for their family as a shop steward. But eight years ago, a stroke changed everything. For months, he was bedridden, unable to move, completely dependent on Vida’s mother for care. Though he has regained some mobility, he remains unable to work. Their eldest child tries to help, but the income is barely enough to get by, let alone pay for medical checkups.
For years, Vida and Recolito put their health aside. They simply couldn’t afford it. Then, a blessing came with the help of our donors and volunteers.
Operation Blessing’s Mobile Clinic arrived in Caloocan, providing free medical consultations and care. Vida and Recolito seized the opportunity.
They were given medicine for their health concerns, and Recolito received a pair of reading glasses. Doctors also gave advice on how to improve their lifestyle and well-being.
“I didn’t know how we would afford healthcare,” Vida said. “But today, my husband and I were cared for, without spending a single peso. Thank you, Operation Blessing!”
Beyond medical help, the clinic brought something even more powerful. That is hope. Partnering with Jesus Christ the Restorer Life Church, the mission extended beyond physical healing.
“This mission is a blessing not just for the community but for us as a church,” shared Eleonor, an elder from the local church. “It gives us the chance to meet people, minister to them, and invite them to experience God’s love through our fellowship.”
For Vida and Recolito, the visit to the mobile clinic wasn’t just about health. It was a reminder that there are people who still care, and that God had not forgotten them.
Thanks to the generosity of supporters like you, more families like theirs can receive the care they desperately need. Will you be part of this mission of hope?
