Monica, 31, is a mother of two young children, ages 8 and 4. Her husband picks up work whenever he can, while Monica sews clothes to help make ends meet. Life has never been easy for their family, and when Typhoon Emong struck, it became even harder.

Heavy rains brought knee-deep floods to their community in Apalit, Pampanga. The farmland just behind their house, their main source of food and income, was completely submerged. With their home at risk and their livelihood washed away, Monica, her husband, and their children evacuated to her in-laws’ house for safety.

When they returned, uncertainty loomed over their future.

Thanks to the support of our partners, Monica became one of the 60 beneficiaries in Apalit, Pampanga who received immediate relief from Operation Blessing. Her family received food, a solar light, sleeping mat, blanket, hygiene kit, and other essentials to help them get back on their feet.

“This is not small. It’s a really great help for us,” Monica shared. “We are so thankful. This is truly a blessing.”

This effort is made possible through the generosity of our donors and the support of Damayan sa Manila Foundation. Special thanks to our faithful church partner, Christ Cares Assembly of God, for standing with us on the ground to bring help and hope to families in crisis.
