Her father died when she was seven, and her mother and some of her older siblings had to work for their family to sustain their living. She is now 17, and the only one among her siblings to have reached high school.
Jessa Aregor is the eighth among the 10 children of Lily Aregor. Her younger sister, Princess, 10, was a beneficiary of the Bless-a-Child (BAC) Program, another aid for the children of the community by Operation Blessing (OB). Because of BAC, her mother was given a livelihood grant of capital for her to be able to sell vegetables. She has now returned the capital and is still continuing the business.
With her mother’s business, they are now able to sustain their daily expenses, and they still have enough to send her younger sisters to school. This is one of the many positive outcomes of Operation Blessing’s projects for families in dire need of financial, emotional and especially spiritual assistance.
Blessed as their family is, Jessa has been enlisted into the Back-to-School program of OB, and is enjoying all the benefits the program offers. She said that she is very thankful to OB because the program is a big help for her mother, lessening the expenses of their family.
Now, Jessa and her mother are more active in church, even doing daily devotion to honor God for all the abundance and blessings they are receiving.
“Sana po ay pagpalain kayo ng Poong Maykapal at patuloy po kayong gawing daan upang matulungan ang mga taong nangangailangan, (I hope that the Lord Almighty will always bless you, and may He continue to use you to reach people who are in extreme need of assistance,)” Jessa wrote.
“Malaking tulong po talaga ang OB hindi lang sa akin kundi sa pamilya ko rin. Kung wala kayo, hindi talaga namin kakayanin ang mga problema namin. Maraming salamat po sa inyo, (OB is a big help not just for me but for my family as well. If not for you, I know we will not be able to face our daily problems. Thank you so much,)”she added.
