This June, we were able to serve hundreds of residents in and nearby Brgy. Tubuan, Lemery, Batangas through our Mobile Clinic. This community is an hour away from the city, which means going to the health center with complete medicine and facilities is quite costly. Optical shops and dental clinics are at a distance, too.

One of our beneficiaries is Marivic Busilig, a 52-year-old mother of 8. She used to do embroidery on special clothes like barongs (traditional Filipino clothing) for a living. But, with age, her vision gradually became blurry to the point that she could no longer do the detailed work of embroidery. She resorted to doing laundry instead. She used to earn up to around ₱500 ($10) per barong from embroidery. But now, she only earns ₱300-500 ($5-10) per week from doing laundry.

Marivic was happy to receive a pair of reading glasses. But more than that, she was greatly encouraged during the one-on-one ministering time.

“I told her (the local church partner) about my problems. My newborn grandchild is recovering in the hospital, and we’re having a hard time stretching our budget. After we prayed, I got a sense of hope that God is taking care of everything. A heavy burden has been lifted off my chest,” Marivic shared.

Marivic came out of the mission with clearer vision in her eyes as well as in life. She is reminded that God loves her, He has a plan, and He is taking care of her and her family’s needs.

This is what sets Operation Blessing apart from other NGOs. More than the medicines, reading glasses, and check-ups, we also administer healing for their souls by bringing hope in God’s love.

To God be the glory!
